People ask me, like all of us, “Why we are, the we are?” Different thinking and opinions as well as traditions make each of us unique from one another.
Well here is my answer to that question.
To start with from the time I was young I was taught, 1) treat people as you want to be treated and 2) to judge people by they character and not by the color of their skin or their religion or any the factor but rather how is this person in front of me, so with that thinking I give everyone and fair and equal chance and until they prove to me that they are not good people I carry on and continue to know them. Now I am a very trusting person but at the same time I am also very observant and pay attention to what is going on around me all the time so if things start to look or sound funny I am out of there quickly.
I understand the people make mistakes, hell I have made more then my share of them in life and I know I will make many more. But some mistakes are made for what, at the time we thing are good reasons, only later to find it wasn’t. But this is just part of life and we have to deal with these things day in and day out. So when someone makes a mistake in their live I don’t hold it against them depending on what it is of course. If no one was physically hurt well ok I hope they learned from it and will try not to do it again. This is what I would want someone to do in my case.
Second I have no religion; Since I don’t have this major obstacle in my live I can look at the whole world and the people in it with open eyes. I feel any time you are letting your life be controlled by a set of rules that you don’t even know where they came from or why something is really wrong some where. I can not imagine what daily life was life was like 10,000 years or even 4,000 years ago for the average person on earth but I do know it was a lot different and religion can to me like the police force to keep people in check so they would not go over crazy with their action, ok back them it was need, granted. Scare the crap out of them to keep them in line.
4,000 years ago most people on the planet we not every smart and easily influenced by everything since they had no understanding of the world around them. Well today to know a lot more then those poor souls did so why are people still clinging on this indivisible man in the shy? I don’t get it, sorry!
I see religion as just another barrier the divided people so I want no part of it, thank you. We I think about how many people have died over religion I have to ask my self if there was a god why would he let this happen to so many incident people, and what kind of god is this to follow?
Ok so you remove the religious barriers and a lot changes in your thinking quickly.
I believe in evolution: With is in my bag of tricks I see man as just another animal on the planet. We evolved to be what we are that was out growth thought the ages, no more, no less it is just that simple. Humans have set the rules on what is right and wrong for them selves and each different group have set their own rules over time, today we call it cultural differences. A girl are her first period between the ages of 12 and 14 this is the sign that she is ready to start having offspring just like any other animal on the planet and years ago it was normal for them to marry at that age, today in most cultures that has been stopped, another one of mans rules. I’m not saying it right or wrong I am just stating facts here, again this is not 4,000BC I understand that, ok!
Traditions: Something else I don’t have any of. Like religion these too set up barrier between people of the world. Women are getting stoned or set on fire by their own family member for loving some one out side of their clan, how crazy is that? People keep away from others because they are not of the same race or have different traditions and the two clash while they may love each other they know their families will never accept their partner so they separate. People look at other traditions and think how strange they are while I look at them and ask why? What is reason behind it and is it needed to day?
I have always asked question about things I didn’t understand and still do and most of the time the answer I get is, “well that is the way it always has been done so I just follow!” Well I’m sorry that is no answer for me. I can see doing things and not knowing the reason behind it, I am just funny like that I guess!
What I have to realize is that people need something to feel connected to in they lives, be it religion, tradition or another person. We has humans need that feeling all the time to make us feel safe and to give us purpose and a reason to keep going on. Depending on how out lives or going will determine which we will rely on more, when times get hard we pray to god for help or do some custom to change our luck. Instead of just saying “what happens, happens” and that is all there is to it people turn to the supernatural for guidance and hope. When someone makes it out of a serious accident people say “thank god” instead of saying, “good thing they had their seat beat on!” when it is your time to go, it is your time to go, that what I think and there is divine power calling all the shots on when and where to kick off. If there was a destiny for your life then no matter what you did in your life was all meant to happen and you had no control over it because every decision you made right or wrong lead you to that destiny, right? So why look down on another for what their destiny is and just accept them as they are?
This is me and why I am the way I am if you wanted to know!

***”just to day i was thinking of shutting it down but now i don’t think so!!”***
You are a nice guy Warren — Don’t u DARE commit this crime — U create something marvelous that we all enjoy and how could u even get a thought of shutting it down???
I am a single 35 year old guy from India, travelled alone from 24 years age till date in Asia, starting with Thailand - Finally think Singapore is the best place for me - and like u thinking of making it My Singapore too
I visited Singapore only once, but instantly knew it was the place for me…or at least i think so now. And of all the sites i checked, ur site is the best with the info that i would want.
I have been visiting your website regularly rereading some parts of it. And i as far as i would know, a lot of people are thankful that you exist. So, plz do all you can (in ur free time of course) to be with us throught this site.
Some thoughts are meaningless. Kill the thought of killing this website. And someday i know we would be having a drink together having a good time.
NB: I am a life coach and a lot in common on the above mentioned by you - Cheers - Keep up the good…oops….Great Job
Hey Warren,
I’m glad to hear you decided NOT to shut down!
The website has much too much information for both people who have been to Singapore, Thailand, the PI, etc., but also those who have no clue how much fun those places are.
I’m directing all my family and friends to your site and would be devastated if you closed it…
Keep up the good work!
Warren’s Fans & Terry, thanks for the support, it means a lot to receive this kind of comments.
I have not read it in full yet maybe keep coming back to finish it….. but i find it nice and real…so i am a fan now too.
keep it up !
Jann - thanks for your comments and nice chatting to you. Maybe we’ll meet one day when I am in Subic.
Hey Warren, I’m a Singaporean now living near LA for several years. I’ve been coming here from time to time to read your articles. First off, I think your site contains invaluable information that I think even the majority of Singaporeans do not know about. If you shut it down, it will be a great loss in terms of documenting a very interesting facet of life in Singapore. it would be like someone torching a part of our National Archives. So here’s hoping you will not do this. I think even people who are not into the seamier side of things in Singapore will enjoy reading your observations and social commentary about Singapore.
Cheers and wishing you continued vigor in this endeavor!
Thanks an i will consider what you have said. Thanks for visiting the site. I hope to add some more new articles soon.
Hey Man youre doing a great job here like the guys said its all good info, spore is a gret place just wish i could get there more often

No other site mentioned the raids in geyleng .theirs some great info on lots of things, when more trip reports and tips come in on the forum it will become the single source for Singapore..
