Singapore the squeaky clean city, well maybe not!

I was talking with a visiting guy the other day in a bar off Orchard Road and he said to me, “Bangkok, Singapore both the same when it comes to finding girls to fuck it is just cheaper in Bangkok!” After hearing this is thought about what he said very carefully. I know sex can be found every where in Singapore from the Legal Red Light areas to the massage parlors and health clubs along with numerous night clubs where both foreign and locals girls can be found that will spend the night with you either for money or for free.

The men of the U.S. 7^th fleet have know the repartition of Singapore’s ladies  for years now and always look forward to returning for a good time with them. The Surong Party Girls (SGP’s) are known world wide for their sexual adventures and party girl attitude.

Going along with them are the Thai and Filipina girls found in Orchard Towers every night of the week and now have spread out to many of the other party areas within the country unlike the SPG’s which tend to hang in the areas where the Caucasian Expats visit mostly.

With Singapore changing the visa relations on visitors from China granting them a 30 day visa vice the old 14 day pass now the number of Chinese hookers on the street has risen greatly and has expanded out side of the DRL’s to various locations around the island. The Chinese ladies (PRC’s) will approach the men and ask if they what to go play or want a date. Dressed in sexy dresses the PRC’s are easy to spot and stand out from the other women in the area. Ranging from late teens to mid-twenties the PRC’s are sought after by many of the older Singaporean men but can be approached by any customer, if there is a language problem she will show you the price on her hand phone and off you go.

Thai girls are been brought into service the construction workers that work out of make shift sex villages that are put up in the jungle and in remote locations for cheap prices. Many locals and cab drivers know of these locations and visit them as well.

Vietnamese girls’ numbers have risen also, maybe because so many Singaporean males are going to Vietnam to find brides they decided to come here and work and maybe find a man to marry. While not seen or the street working you can find them in the clubs at night taking customers out for a short time visit to the closes hotel down the street form the bar or to spend the entire night if the price is right.

Regardless of what nationally of female you are seeking from Asia you can find them working in the sex trade in Singapore in large numbers and even a few European girls too mainly from Russia at the moment but I’m sure the other will follow soon enough. I even heard of a few Japanese girls working out of friends’ houses as prostitutes.

It would appear clear that the sex trade industry in strong in Singapore and shows no sign of fading anything soon. So why it is doing do well in country that says it is so morally clean? It is well known that everyday hundreds of men go to Batam and JB for cheap sex. On the weekends the numbers can jump to over 600 per day to Batam alone. If that many are leaving just to have sex out side of the county, how many are paying for it in country and why? Its not a secrete about these locations and what goes on there when the men state their destination, while some will deny they are going there for sex but rather to play gulf or it is a weekend business trip I think the fact remains, “if you go the devils play ground, you’re going to pick up a toy”.  I should not have to say this but I will, “this is not 100% of the men, I’m sure some men are there for more then just sex.”

But if you ask a Singaporean wife what she thinks her husband is doing in Batam golf will not be the first answer she thinks of.

So is it the women of Singapore that have brought this rise for sex workers in the country to service the sexual need of the men here? As good looking as they are do they maintain the sexual drive after 3 or 5 years marriage? With the average age of the females being mid 30’s when getting married they should be at their sexual peek in their life while the man has his in the late teens and early 20’s. Since being here I have heard some strange things about sex from some from of the local women and if these are believed to hold any truth to them then yes there is a big problem with the women here, at least in my option.

I doubt that the younger ladies in their teenagers and early 20’s will have the same attitudes as those in the 40 and above range here but only time will tell that. Sexual education is still shied away from in many homes with the parents leaving it to the school to teach. So like so many other places in the world where the kids are forced to learn it on their own ending up in the increase in pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease that has been seen in the country during 2004.

So in a country where censorship is strongly regulated the need for sexual activities is actively sough after by its male population. With the sale of illegal X-rated VCD and the internet it limits who is seeing these kinds of activities many males have or have seen them and own it in one form or another. Can this be the cause of the sex drive of the men? I don’t think so!

With sex being able to be obtained in so many places by so many different women it is hard to turn away from when out on the town with the guys. KTV lounges and pubs are known to be places where the girls will go that extra mile for the big tip. While many of the girls are not from Singapore it forces the local girls to do the same to keep up to earn a living in the business.

From time to time the Anti-vice will do a raid on an area but after a few weeks time a new batch of girls arrive and things are back to normal again. There is talk that to control the increase to the growing number of sex workers the government should increase the number of DRL’s to maintain some control. With many of the sex workers working illegally and only being here on a visitors visa would increasing the number of locations curb the tied of street walker, I don’t think so! And if they where to raise the number where do you put them with out upsetting the residence? Or do you just give the girls “sex worker cards” when they arrive and set them free on the streets to work in clubs.

Prostitution is something Singapore knows it will always have and to try to stop it will be a costly if not impossible task and would just drive it underground increasing the spread of  STD’s and HIV. With no law on the book stating that prostitution is legal it is tolerated in the DRL’s with in the houses only while the number of illegal sex workers is properly 10 or 20 times the number if not higher. One thing I feel the government understands is that to shut down all the locations that have these girls working in them would be a big blow to the entertainment and tourist industry and would result in the lost of millions of dollars in revenue, businesses closing and unemployment for thousands for bar maids and bar tenders with no place else to turn for work. So again it is kept under control and watched closely, all bar owners now in time their turn will come and they too will raided but it only mean a lost of customers for a short time since often the owners are not fined unless illegal actives are found to be going on within the establishment. Mostly the girls are deports for immigration violation or other minor violations.
