Elvis Bar – 65 Boat Quay

1 July 2010 / 9pm

I was sitting in the Thai restaurant next door where I eat all the time noticing all the hot looking filipinas sitting out side the bar asking guys to in for a drink about 12 of them.

So after I finish my beer I headed towards that and grabbed one girl and said “I want to you a drink!” she smiles and follows me in the bar and to a seat. Then she turns around and walks out of the bar. So am I thinking she forgot her bag or something. So I take note of the inside of of place.

Small which will only seat about 12 or 14 people at best and a pool table where an expat is playing with 2 of hottest girl at the club. Talk, thin and pretty as hell, wearing small tight dresses and very high heels.

So after about 5 minutes the girls is still not back, so I order my beer, yep even the male bar tender didn't ask what I wanted and I was by a table next to the bar. So I drink my drink and a few girls come in and don't even look at me. Half way though my beer 2 white guys walk in to check out the place with for girls following, seeing it is dead in side they leave and so do the girls.

So now I an thinking “What the fuck?” I finish my beer pay my bill and left.

Note: this is the second BnD bar this happen to me at in the Boat Quay area the first was Ba-ra-cu-da which is not closed. I don't know why no one came over to keep me company? But have my suspicions why. Shame too because I had plenty money on me that night was will to blow it all too.

I think that ANY bmd bar at Boat Quay will be very 'ang mo friendly' as there are a lot of finance types and managers working around Raffles Square/CBD areas.

Money talks most of the time.

Were you wearing a business suite (with or without a tie).

Did you carry an attache case?

It helps in those type places to look rich--even if you aint.

Just some thoughts.

Flash: Could be they dun need new customers cos they fill their quotes after 10pm--especially on Friday nights.

Boat quay gets packed with people--a mix of tourists, locals and ex-pats.

Probably can be seen as a more respectable and 'higher class' area for BmD bars and pickup places than OT.
